March 18 - DX8 Update

Well great news. I have converted almost all functions over to DX8 on the demo (which makes it easy to convert on the client since they are identical) and with the FPS locked at 61, it is running consistently and very smooth. No fps spikes on any of the 3 computers I have tested it on. As soon as I completely finish converting everything, I'll put out a new demo to test the FPS.

Oh, and Fledge, I've tested out drawing a color on top of a grayscale image, and that is extremely easy to do with DX8. So we may use it on some things, but not everything. If you look at the graphics we have now, then we'll likely use it on the paperdolls (shirts, hair, etc) and that's it for now. Probably items as we start to get some.
